From June 16th to July 16th we will hold weekly reading sessions on the Umāmaheśvarasaṃvāda, a Sanskrit text belonging to the so-called “Śivadharma corpus”, of which we will study and edit selected chapters in an attempt to throw light on the historical and socio-religious background of the composition of some works of the corpus in the Kathmandu Valley.
The reading sessions will be led by Nirajan Kafle, who has just joined the project from the University of Leiden, and will see the participation of Florinda De Simini, Francesco Sferra and Kenji Takahashi. We plan on presenting the initial results of this work in the Śivadharma Kickoff workshop that will be held on September 30th-October 1st at the University L’Orientale.
