Nirajan Kafle’s work in the National Archives of Kathmandu
From December 20th till January 5th, our Śivadharmin Nirajan Kafle traveled to Kathmandu to conduct archival research at the National Archives. This library is home to the most important collection of manuscripts of the Śivadharma Corpus, comprising both the earliest specimens and the most recent ones. To date, we do not have a comprehensive catalogue of all the Śivadharma manuscripts held in the care of the National Archives of Kathmandu. Dr. Kafle, during his visit, could work on the imposing microfilm collection of the Archives, examine some of the original manuscripts and place a new order for more colour pictures, which will be crucial for our editorial work. Moreover, dr. Kafle held several meetings with the director and librarians of the Archives, to present our project and discuss about possible avenues of cooperation.
