From February 11th till February 16th, Florinda, along with Śivadharma Project friends Giulia Buriola and Kristen de Joseph, carried out research at two of the most important manuscript archives in Chennai: the Research Centre of the Adyar research library, and the Government Oriental Manuscript Library.
The Adyar Library and Research Centre holds an important collection of Southern Indian manuscripts. Among these, we could examine and place an order for scans of manuscripts 66014 and 66015, which are the sole testimony known so far of the Śivadharmaśāstra and Śivadharmottara in Telugu script.
On the other hand, our work at the GOML focussed on Tamil manuscripts. Here we were allowed to study and take pictures of manuscripts TR 1034 and TR 3163, which will enormously enrich our understanding of the transmission of the Civatarumōttaram and its commentary.
