Two members of our ShivaDharma group, Csaba Kiss and Florinda de Simini, were at Humboldt University in Berlin this week to join the workshop of the ERC DHARMA Project. The workshop “Institutionalised Religion and Asceticism in South and Southeast Asia in the Pre-Modern Period” welcomed many scholars of South and Southeast Asia, both online as well as in presence.
Florinda de Simini and Csaba Kiss presented part of their research output on “Śaiva asceticism in the Śivadharma” (de Simini) and on “The Role of the Vṛṣasārasaṃgraha in the Śivadharma corpus”.
The workshop took place over four days, from 1st until 4th of March, and hosted several sessions, bringing together all members of the DHARMA ERC on the subject of instituzionalized religions in premodern South and Southeast Asia. Moreover, the conference was attended by 80 online participants. You can find all abstracts here.
We are grateful for the days of exchange and enrichment, and we wish to thank Annette Schmiedchen in particular for letting it happen!
