On 25 November 2019, Margherita Trento, a Śivadharma team member and currently a postdoc at the University of Naples “L’Orientale,” successfully defended her PhD dissertation at the University of Chicago. The dissertation, titled “Writing Christianity in Eighteenth-century Tamiḻakam,” explores the social history of Catholic literature in Tamil in the precolonial period.
