Seminar on Bengali Language and Culture at UniOr
Our research fellow Daniela Cappello run a seminar on Bengali language and culture for students of L’Orientale during the month of May 2023. It is the first time that a seminar on Bengali is offered at an academic institution in Naples.
The seminar offered an introduction to Bengali (bāṅglā), official language of Bangladesh and West Bengal. Besides providing an entry into the history and culture of the region, the seminar introduced the alphabet and some aspects of the Bengali grammar and lexicon. Students learned some simple phrases and get familiar with basic questions and answers.
